EduJA

How EduJA Compares

Grades 7–13 · Built for Jamaican secondary students · other platforms' details last checked October 6, 2026

Choosing an online learning platform for a Jamaican secondary student is a real decision — one worth making with accurate information, not marketing spin. Below is how EduJA compares with four names Jamaican parents and students ask us about: One on One Educational Services, One Academy, LearningHub, and EduFocal. Everything we say about those platforms comes from their own public websites on the date above — see the sources at the bottom. Where we could not find something, we say "not advertised" rather than guess.

Where EduJA is different

  • One place for the whole of secondary school. Every grade from 7 to 13 is covered, so a student can start in first form and stay through sixth form without switching platforms.
  • A complete lesson every time. Each of the 10,500 lessons has its own video, written content, and a quiz drawn fresh from a larger pool of questions — not just practice questions on their own.
  • Three levels for every subject. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced tracks let a student who is behind catch up and a student who is ahead keep moving, within the same plan.
  • Study on your own schedule. Lessons are available at any hour, so they fit around school, chores, and data limits rather than a fixed live timetable.
  • Built for how Jamaicans actually pay. Not every family has a card. EduJA prices everything in J$ and accepts bank transfer and remittance (MoneyGram/Western Union) as well as PayPal.

Where another platform may suit you better

  • If free matters most: One Academy's live lessons and self-paced courses were free when we checked.
  • If you need a CSEC or CAPE subject outside our five areas (for example Principles of Business, Information Technology, or a single science taken as its own subject): One Academy and LearningHub list individual subjects.
  • If your child is preparing for PEP: EduJA starts at Grade 7. EduFocal's main focus is PEP.
  • If you prefer live classes with a teacher on a set timetable: One Academy and LearningHub both offer them.

A note on Grades 12 and 13

Jamaica's National Standards Curriculum covers Grades 1–9, and Grades 10–11 follow the CXC CSEC syllabuses. There is no single Ministry of Education curriculum for Grades 12 and 13 (sixth form) — students there follow CXC's CAPE syllabuses or another approved pathway, chosen subject by subject. EduJA's Grade 12 and 13 lessons are CAPE-level enrichment in our five subject areas. They are not a unit-by-unit match for any one CAPE syllabus, so use them alongside your school's syllabus and your teacher's guidance, not instead of them.

A fair note on pricing

EduJA's Full Curriculum plan (J$3,150/month, or J$30,240/year) covers all five subject areas for one grade at all three levels — lessons, videos, quizzes, assessments, the practice bank, exam prep packs, and the AI Tutor. A Single Subject plan is J$850/month, and a Family Plan covering 3 students is J$7,500/month. EduFocal's J$2,500/month (J$10,000/year) plan covers one grade of its practice-and-quiz platform. LearningHub prices each course separately in US dollars, so the total depends on how many subjects a student takes. One Academy's core offering was free when we checked. Which is the better value depends on what a family actually needs — we would rather you compare the real feature set than just the sticker price.

Details for the other platforms were taken from their own public websites and app-store listings on October 6, 2026. "Not advertised" or "not found" only means we could not find it publicly listed on that date — not that the platform does not offer it. Prices and features change, and we would rather fix a mistake than leave it up: if anything here is out of date or wrong, email us at info.team@eduja.org and we will correct it.
